I am sick to death of the political showboating and narrow-minded parochialism espoused by opposition to a basic healthcare plan for the citizens of the wealthiest nation on Earth. The personal is always, by nature, political because for most people there's no reason to care about a common good issue until it climbs their doorsteps and moves in with them.
