WTP’S 2011 Ethel Woolson Lab Completes Its Winning Season With

THE JEW-CATCHER [DER JUDEFÄNGER] by David L. Fisher, Tues., Nov. 15th, 7:30 p.m., Academy Theatre, 119 Center St., Avondale Estates, Ga.

The Jew-Catcher [DER JUDEFÄNGER] by David L. Fisher
In 1961 Los Angeles a Holocaust survivor recognizes the man who decades earlier tricked her and her family out of hiding and into the hands of the Gestapo. Rather than go to the authorities, she takes the matter to the elders of her synagogue. They set into motion an investigation that insinuates two young people into the man’s life, employs agents across two continents and plumbs the depths of two war torn souls. What they find darkens the lives of them all. What they wanted was truth and justice. What they learn is that sometimes the two are strangers.
Directed by Melissa Foulger.  Dramaturgy by Addae Moon.  With Jim Donadio, Elliott Grey, Peter Hardy, Boyd Gossett, Cynthia Barrett, Jo Howarth, Whitney Millsap, and Judith Beasley.

Working Title Playwrights (WTP) is proud to present this new play as part of its signature series, The Ethel Woolson Lab (TEWL). In TEWL, WTP member playwrights are given the opportunity to develop their competitively selected scripts with a team of professional actors, director and dramaturg over the course of a week culminating in a staged reading for the public. Audience participation in an engaging talkback session with the playwright after the reading is a vital component of the development process.
